13-7-13 Great date for a plunge George.  Timing’s everything innit.  Where’s that hand sign Cameo does – that skull with his fists?

Mirror 13 June 2013

Nearly £1.1billion was wiped off the value of RBS today after George Osborne was accused of booting out boss Stephen Hester.

The taxpayer was left counting the cost after the bailed-out bank’s share price plummeted by 3.3% – on top of losses of £34billion since 2008.

It came as MPs suggested the Chancellor played a major part in Mr Hester getting the push – despite the Treasury insisting the bank’s board made the decision.

But a senior political source said: “It has political footprints all over it.

“If the Chancellor had wanted Hester to stay, all he would have had to do was to pick up the phone.”

And Labour’s Barry Sheerman told Tories in Parliament: “Let’s be honest to the British people and let’s be honest that you’ve sacked this banker for your own purposes.”’

‘Labour MP Pat McFadden, who sits on the Parliamentary Commission for Banking Standards, said: “I don’t think there should be any rushed decisions about RBS privatisation, which is the suspicion after Stephen Hester’s announcement.

“This didn’t look to me like a voluntary announcement.”’

Meanwhile at the ‘Top Paddock‘ tea cups are almost empty, toast crumbs lie on plates and ‘The Flock’ prepare to go back to ‘the office’.

Parting Comment:  “Nicholas “Nick” William Leeson is a former derivatives broker whose fraudulent, unauthorized speculative trading caused the spectacular collapse of Barings Bank, the United Kingdom’s oldest investment bank, for which he was sent to prison.” The Government and several others in the financing world must be due some SERIOUS time inside …… they collapsed a whole country!!!!
